PacketStorm 8XG is an IP network emulator that applies fault phenomena such as "packet loss/delay/fluctuation" that may occur in a real network (IP cloud), known transmission characteristics, events, etc., to packets passing through this unit.
The I/F has two gauges that can use each module of SFP+/SFP28/QSFP28, and the switching of each media rate of 10/25/100Gbps can be performed by the software switch in the GUI. (Software license required)
PacketStorm 8XG has an intuitive GUI that makes it easy to create emulation scenarios. By arranging Impairment icons such as delay and drop on the screen, it is possible to reproduce various phenomena and phenomena that occur in IP networks and clouds.
The emulation link can be constructed by deciding the profile of the packet to be applied and arranging the desired icon there. All you have to do is give each icon the parameters it needs. In addition, the emulation link can be set individually for both directions of full-duplex communication as shown below.
The example in the figure emulates a performance-asymmetric link by setting different delay times in the up and down directions. In addition, the communication status of each link can be individually displayed with statistical information such as bandwidth, delay, loss, number of bytes, and number of packets.
